We learnt yesterday that as a believer, you can send God’s angels on assignments that will bless your life. In Hebrew 12: 22, Apostle Paul describes the angels that are at the disposal of believers in Christ as “an innumerable company”, and they are available to serve us. What a privilege we have in Christ!

I encourage you to begin to practise God’s word by sending His angels on specific assignments in your life. Only make sure that your request or command is in line with the word of God. You can also pray to God to send His angels to you when you need divine intervention. He will. The Bible reveals that God sent angels on missions of mercy to His children. He still does today. He sent an angel to Abraham with promises of blessings (Gen 22).

He sent angels to the gates of Sodom to rescue righteous Lot from its fiery doom (Genesis 19). He sent an angel to Elijah, as he was about to perish from weariness and hunger in the desert (1 Kings 19). He sent an angel to Elisha with chariots and horses of fire surrounding the little town where he was shut in by his foes (2 Kings 6:13-18).

He sent angels to Daniel, while seeking divine wisdom in the court of a heathen king and when he was abandoned to be the lion’s prey (Daniel 6). He sent an angel to rescue Peter, who was doomed in Herod’s dungeon (Acts 12). He sent angels of deliverance to the prisoners at Philippi (Acts 16). He sent an angel to Paul and his companions in the night of tempest on the sea (Acts 27).

He sent an angel to open the mind of Cornelius to receive the gospel (Acts 10). He sent an angel to dispatch Peter with the message of salvation to the Gentile stranger (Acts 10). All these point to the truth that in all ages, these holy angels have ministered to God’s people. My prayer is that they will minister mercy, grace, help, healing, deliverance, blessings, peace, joy, progress and all-round fulfilment to you today, in the name of Jesus.

Beloved, a closed mouth is a closed destiny. Cry unto God and tell Him to send His angels on a mission of mercy into that particular area of your life or that situation that has been a huge burden to you all these while. Make your request in the holy and wonder-working name of Jesus. Your help is here!

Many people in the household of faith have not been able to ask God for very big things or receive great things from Him because their view of who God is and what God can do is faulty or wrong. They limit God in their hearts and that limits the blessings of God that gets to them. How big is your God? As a believer, it is important to always remember that your spiritual progress is largely determined by your view of God. If you hold in your heart a limited or inadequate picture of God, it will reflect in how you live, what you ask of God and get from Him.

In our Fire Scripture, Isaiah saw God not just as mighty but the Almighty. Two Bible characters and events will help to shed more light on this. First, when Goliath challenged the army of Israel to a single combat and none of the soldiers could confront him, it was because the soldiers had a limited and faulty view of God. They could not see Jehovah, the God of Israel, as the invincible Lord of Hosts who is with them.

Hence, each time Goliath challenged them, they cringed in fear. That was not the case with David who had the right view of God. He told Goliath that the God of the armies of Israel is the One Goliath was up against and that Goliath’s flesh would be fed to the birds of the air by the same God that he had defied. David knew and declared that Goliath had no chance beside Jehovah. David’s view of God was right and his faith was active. Hence, he defeated Goliath.

Beloved, having a wrong view of God will produce a weak and inactive faith. That will, in turn, produce a life devoid of the best that God has for His children: abundant and glorious life. Do you know that when Abraham told Isaac that God would provide ram for His sacrifice, he was only demonstrating his faith in a big God who could provide for His own in all circumstances?

God honoured Abraham’s faith and the right view of who He is by providing the ram miraculously and sparing Isaac’s life. Beloved, let your life demonstrate that you serve the Incomparable God. That will change everything positively for you.

Beloved, you need the favour of God and of all men to make the journey of your life a success story. One prayer you must pray and get answer to is that God should confer supernatural favour on you and make favour to accompany you throughout your journey in life.

God’s supernatural favour flowing in your life is not based on your background, looks, or personality. If you are a born again child of God, Jesus has made you the righteousness of God in Him. God has specially bestowed His favour on you and all His righteous children. He said,“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield”(Psalm 5:12).

Favour is a spiritual game changer that makes a huge difference in every life. It was favour that made David to be preferred to his seven brothers and to be anointed in their midst. The same favour brought David from the bush to the palace. It was favour that moved Joseph from the prison to the throne. In fact, favour accompanied Joseph in every phase of his life’s journey and ensured that he excelled.

Favour also operated supernaturally in the life of Daniel. Though he and the other Israelites were captives in Babylon, he had favour with the leaders of the land. Daniel 1:9 affirms that God brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. He also had so much favour with the leaders of the land that he was elevated to prestigious positions in the Babylonian kingdom. In spite of the opposition the enemy raised against him, Daniel eventually became the prime minister of Babylon.

I pray that favour will turn everything the enemy throws at you to testimonies in the name of Jesus. Favour can break through any barrier set before you. When you are favoured byGod, He will positively influence people who are unfavourably disposed to you and they will treat you with kindness and honour. The Egyptians had been oppressive to the Israelites for over 400 years.

However, the day God gave the children of Israel favour in their sight marked the beginning of the dramatic deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt. The Egyptians willing and freely gave the Israelites all they required and they spoiled the Egyptians (Exodus 12:36).

Also, it was favour that made Esther a queen in a foreign land. Beloved, why did good things happen to Joseph, David, Daniel and Esther? It was because they had God’s favour. I encourage you to believe God for this supernatural game-changer. You are the next in line for divine favour, in Jesus’ name.

God pays attention to details. How you pay your firstfruits matters to Him. The failure to take this into cognisance has made many believers to forfeit parts of the blessings of first fruits that ought to have accrued to them. For instance, many believers do not plan and prepare for the payment of their first fruits.

Being a yearly affair, you ought to make adequate planning and preparation for next year’s payment the moment you pay the current year. Proper planning and preparation for giving your offering and paying your tithe as well as firstfruits will help to ensure that you give God the first place and offer Him the best. It will also help to ensure that you clear other bills (rent, school fees, mortgage, etc) out of the way and that nothing competes or takes what you have earmarked for God.

Planning and preparation will enable you to truly worship God with your substance. What steps do you need to take in planning and preparing for the payment of your firstfruit in line with God’s word?

Here are some of them:
First, giving is a form of worship. The payment of your firstfruit should be treated as a significant spiritual exercise and as a way of worshipping God. There are injunctions from God about what you should give, to whom, when and how.

Therefore, you should pray to God to enable you to obey Him and fulfil His instructions.In your prayers, you can also ask God questions and listen to Him forfurther directions. When you get the payment of your firstfruits right, you can expect overflowing blessings from the All-SufficientGod.

Second, estimate and correctly reckon what you will be giving to God. Ensure that you do not underpay or short-change God. Being diligent in this area also shows that you are a committed and Spirit-led believer.If you do not pay attention to the quantity and quality of what you pay as well asthe timing, you may miss out on the benefits.

The next thing is that you must prioritise God. In paying your firstfruits as well as tithes, ensure that you obey Exodus 22:29 by paying your first fruits to God before any other payment or use. In addition to this, you must not delay or postpone the payment of your first fruits. Once it is available, pay it with alacrity. Exodus 22:29a says, “Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits…”

Similarly, In II Chronicles 31:5, the Bible says that the giving of firstfruit must be done promptly along with the payment of tithe: “And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.”

Therefore, when you plan and prepare properly for paying your firstfruit and tithe, you are not likely to skip, delay or postpone paying them. By proper planning and preparation, you would beat the enemy, who never wants you to pay, to his antics!.

Polygamy is a kind of marriage in which a man marries more than one wife. It creates bitter rivalry between family members and can lead to witchcraft in the name of seeking for protection for children among the wives Marriage is the first institution established by God Himself. God gave it as a gift to Adam and Eve. It is the union of one man and one woman (Gen. 2:24).

The idea of a woman getting married to more than one man (polyandry) and two male persons or two female persons getting married are all strange and unbiblical. God never supported polygamy. Its consequences are terrible and numerous. Some Bible examples will make this clearer.

First, Abraham married Hagar, Sarah’s maid, out of pressure. Because Sarah was unable to bear him children, she gave Hagar her maid to Abraham. This union led to bitterness between Sarah and Hagar. Not only this, the descendant of Ishmael (the product of the union which was not from God) became a thorn in the flesh of the body of Christ till today.

Second, although Jacob served Laban for Rachael, he was deceived. Leah was given to him instead of Rachael, but because of the love he had for Rachael, he served another seven years to have her also. This act of Jacob created disaffection so much between the two sisters.

Jealousy and envy also spread from the mothers to their children. The rivalry and envy among the children made them to sell Joseph into slavery.
Similarly, David married more than one wife. Polygamy had adverse consequences in the life of David also: Ammon raped his half-sister, Tamar, and Absalom murdered Ammon because of his rape offence (2 Sam 13:1-14). There was also rivalry and contest for the throne between Solomon and Adonijah (1 King 1:1-5).

Solomon, David’s son,inherited the evil of polygamy from his father. He married many wives and concubines. The strange and unbelieving women led him away from God into idolatry. An adage in Yoruba language (a tribe in Nigeria) says, “Ile olorogun, ile ogun” i.e. the home with many wives is a war front”. In other words, the more the wives a man marries, the more the problems he will have to contend with.

Polygamy is a terrible thing, beloved. There is this saying: “One woman, one problem, two women, two problems and many women, many problems.” Polygamy leads to witchcraft in the name of protecting and trying to make one’s child or children to be above that of the co-wife or wives.

Beloved, to have a peaceful and loving home, you must follow the manual and instruction of the manufacturer of marriage: one man, one wife.

1) The battle of polygamous witchcraft against my life shall not proper, in the name of Jesus Christ.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 25TH JANUARY 2021

God made everything beautiful from the beginning of the world. He declared them as “good”. (Gen.1:31). Whenever anything goes wrong it is definitely not from God, but from self, sin or satan, the enemy of our soul. The Psalmist said that we are ” fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps. 139:14a). Emotion is an integral part of our being. It could be a mental reaction or a strong feeling in response to an occurrence or a person.

It manifests through thoughts, actions and words. It can be positive or negative. It forms a relative percentage of a person’s character and may determine how far a person can go in life. It speaks about your level of success or failure in life. It is a revealer of your personality and who you are on the inside. God expects His children to possess and manifest positive emotions. We are Christ’s and should emulate as well as demonstrate Christlike virtues. God has emotions.

The same is true of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We read of statements like, “and it pleased God; “it grieved God”; “do not grieve the Holy Spirit”; “Jesus wept” and many more. God is the embodiment of love. Jesus is the Prince of Peace! The Holy Spirit provokes joy in believers. That is why we are enjoined to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit as stated in Gal. 5:21-22.

Negative emotions are all rooted in the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21). The Bible warns us seriously against such. Those who engage in it will not inherit the Kingdom of God. These works of the flesh include anger, pride, fear, hatred, envy, bitterness, strife, malice, sadness, unstable moods, selfishness, self-centeredness, unforgiveness, ungodly thoughts and negative imaginations, foul language and many more. The very root of all of these is the heart or the mind of man.

Proverbs 4:23 counsels that you keep your heart with all diligence and not allow negativity to invade and dominate it. Your emotions should therefore spring from pure and godly motives and not from negative and selfish motives. Living in carnality as a Child of God and not walking in the Spirit would make you satisfy the lusts of the flesh and not the Spirit of God (Gal. 5:16-18). This is a sin, an indication that there is no indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

If the vessel of your life has been polluted with these negative emotions, how then can you claim to be holy? (1 Cor. 3:16-17). There is need for a purging, a spiritual sanitation of your heart by the power of God. He is our Maker and can put right whatever goes wrong. He is the Potter and knows where the clay is marred.

He can bring out a better you from the satanic mess of negative emotions. Don’t pamper them; rather, cry to God in prayer. Discipline yourself and let Him help you think, talk and be better behaved. I pray for a new you, in the name of Jesus.

Yesterday, we established the fact that the first thing you need to do in order to move from curses to blessings is to know the signs or symptoms of a cursed life. Once you can determine whether you are cursed or not, you then need to know how to obtain release from curses. It is not all challenges in life that are results of curses. Joseph suffered maltreatments very much in the hands of his brothers but that was not a curse. Paul went through many hardships but he was not cursed.

Let us first examine the scriptural basis for your release from curses. The atoning death of Jesus on the cross at Calvary and His substitutionary work as well as His resurrection are the sound grounds on which our release, as believers, from curses is founded. The Bible says that the one who had no sin took our sins upon Himself.

Similarly, Galatians 3:13-14 says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”Christ has taken your curses and given you His blessings.

Now let us look at the steps you must take in order to obtain release from curses: First, you must repent of all known sins. The enemy’s legal ground in your life and his ladders must be destroyed. Second, you must renounce the sins of your ancestors. Inherited sins and curses account for the trouble many believers are facing today. Third, you must accept God’s forgiveness and also forgive yourself. In addition, you must forgive all those who have ever offended you. Do not bear grudges.

Also, you must renounce all contacts with any cursed or false religion. More so, you must destroy all evil and polluted materials in your custody. Follow this with an aggressive prayer to release yourself from the curses. Cast out the demons behind the curse by saying, “I command every demon of the curse to leave me now, in the name of Jesus.

Next, you must claim the blessings as replacement for the curses and give thanks to God for setting you free. Once you are set free from curses, you must make conscious and deliberate effort to walk in righteousness and your freedom will be permanent.
