MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SATURDAY 20TH FEBRUARY 2021 – TRIGGERS OF LONELINESS

The Topic of Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional for 20th February 2021 Is ” Triggers of Loneliness ”

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Lev. 22-23

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Rom.7:15-19

MEMORY VERSE: Ps 23:4

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: A lonely life is an empty life that is void of the very essence of living – to love and be loved. But with God every void shall be filled to overflowing with His presence and love.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: I decree that obscurity shall never be able to swallow your glory, in the name of Jesus.

 20TH FEBRUARY 2021

The present world is full of aggression, violence, strife, break ups and divisions in human relationships such as marriage, parenting, family, sibling rivalry, friendship, courtship, and all social and corporate relationships. The Church and the relationship between brethren inclusive! Sadly, it is not out of place to see people who come to church, mingle with the crowd but yet lonely and forsaken. The Bible is a Book of conflict resolution.

No matter the category of your problems, there is a solution attached! But it will be needful that you do a thorough and in depth self- examination. Discover what triggers you into ungodly solitude. Relax and do a flashback! You may need to go back to your childhood days. What are your pains, regrets, hurts and wounds? Could it be rejection? Jesus was rejected and betrayed! (Isa. 53).

Were you betrayed by friends and you thought it’s better to remain lonely than have unfriendly friends? God is able to connect you to the right people. Is it as a result of family issues or sibling rivalry? Ask Joseph. He survived the same among his brethren; they bowed to him at last. Could it be the pains of widowhood, marital distress, separation, divorce or broken courtship? God can and will give you beauty for your ashes as He promised in Isaiah 61:3.

Is it as a result of grief or loss like Job? Jesus will wipe away your tears and give you joy! Is it from internal pressure, failures and disappointments? God is able to sort it all out, if only you will cast the burden upon Him. The Psalmist, King David, was a man of many troubles, yet he did not live a lonely life. People kept drawing to him because God was with him. It means that if, and when you remain lonely, people avoid you instead of relating with you; then the presence of God is no longer with you!

Jesus did not keep away from men in spite of who He is when He was in the world, rather He accepted each of His disciples for whom they were and helped them become better persons. Acceptance is one place you should start from by developing a positive mind set to persons, things, and situations. For all these shall pass away, no situation is permanent! Realise that we have individual differences which may trigger conflicts, but in diversity we can foster unity as children of God.

Make efforts to chase away that lonely feeling and invite the Prince of Peace into your life and you shall NEVER be lonely. We are sheep of His pastures, created for His pleasure. Begin to enjoy that intimacy and you shall become divinely contagious, never lonely again, in Jesus’ name.
